Panamint City Pictographs
Panamint City is mainly known for its mining boom, but it also has some lesser-known native American sites, and what awesome sites they are! It is a bit of a trek to get up there these days, and probably best done as an overnight backpack. The trip is well worth
Red Lady Pictographs
Back in 2010, we visited a couple of pictograph sites in Joshua Tree. Both of these sites have red female figures in small caves. Finding pictograph sites is good enough, but there is more to these sites.
Cottonwood Ridge Petroglyphs
Cane Man Petroglyphs
Echo Canyon Petroglyphs
In 2009, I had a nice hike up this sandy canyon to check out some algae fossils and petroglyphs on limestone bedrock. Not much out here in these lonely hills of eastern Death Valley National Park.
Old Crump Flat
Dan and I had been wanting to go out here for some time. The site is not difficult to reach; we could just never seem to find the time to get out to this part of Death Valley.
