We recently visited an interesting medium-sized mine out in middle-of-nowhere Nevada. The mine is developed by multiple shafts and drops to the 500 ft level. The workings below the 300 ft level were wet, rotten and caving, so we didn’t spend much time down there. Otherwise, it was a pretty straightforward and fun place. It is great to see ore cars still in place where the miner’s left them.
Photos of Boxcar on a mine phone are part of a long running series. It started in 2007 at the Rhonda Mine and continued at Duke’s Camp, the Palin Mine and the Palmer Mine.
