Back in 2012, we went on a trip
Discovered in 1865, the area was worked in a small way for silver but the mines never produced much of anything. We explored the area and only found a few traces of mining activity. This ruin of a smelter is the highlight of that is left.
This is a nice and quiet place to visit, way out in the middle of nowhere. We felt like we had the whole valley to ourselves
This site is now included inside of the Basin and Range National Monument.
