Not it's real name, I came across notes of this stamp mill years ago while doing my normal research. It was a small silver and gold mine with a stamp mill built before 1900. The mill was run by waterpower, and one source mentioned an avalanche destroyed the mill - hence the name.

Most stamp mills are long gone these days, but I filed this one away in my notes. Finally, in the fall of 2009, we began our search.

As is often the case with more remote and hidden sites, our research didn’t give the exact location, but we narrowed it down to a small area. We managed to find an old road, overgrown with brush and trees. It was a steep hike, but after a few hours, we finally made it. And even though it was a small mill site, it was worth the effort.
