It is a bit of a hike to reach this old arrastra site and camp. Looks like it was used mainly during the 1930s Great Depression, but the tin cans suggest it was used earlier than that. We found a small mine nearby.
An arrastra. It was probably driven by a gasoline powered motor.
Overview of some of the site. There was a camp here.
Drag stones with hooks still in place.
View of the frame and drive gears of the arrastra.
Probably the remains of a jaw crusher.
In a side canyon, we find a rainwater catch dam.
View from above the catch dam.
The tin can dump is pretty extensive, suggesting someone was here for some time.
Quite a variety of cans, including hole-in-cap cans.
What is this? Stamp mill shoe? Blacksmith tool?
An old stone cabin.
A broken bottle of Sloans Liniment
Looking down the canyon at the arrastra from the cabin.
