I’ve been exploring the deserts and mountains of the western USA for more than twenty-five years.
I started starbuck.org way back in 1997 to track my hikes and peak-bagging adventures. I’d always preferred hiking to remote peaks and along the way I noticed historical mines cabins and prehistoric rock art. I decided to document what I found. Ultimately, these became more interesting than the peaks.
Over the years, I’ve been to thousands of mines and petroglyph sites. This website now has over 320 trip reports with more than 10,000 photos. My collection at home has over 51,000 photos.
I hope to share some of those places with you. Please respect and enjoy.
